45% of County government employees live outside the County

From Bethesda Beat:

Almost half of Montgomery County government’s 9,000-plus employees live outside the county, according to a new personnel management report….According to the latest report, 4,159 of 9,243 permanent employees – 45% – lived either in a different Maryland county a neighboring state.”

Employees of Montgomery County Public Schools are not considered employees of county government and are therefore not included in the report.

The report is by the County’s Office of Human Resources and primarily consists of tables of statistical data.
